Handmades new home!

Did you hear that Canberra's famous and fabulous new Handmade Market has moved to a new home? The next market is at The Yarralumla Woolshed. What a great venue - it's huge! All of us at L&E are thrilled to be going there! Even better, it runs across two days now. Twilight champagne shopping on Friday 11 September from 6-9pm and all day Saturday 12 September 10am-4pm. Slot it in your diary. See www.handmademarket.com.au for the latest news (and make sure you sign up for the newsletter to automatically enter the draw for a fabulous prize).

into fair trade? so are we....

Today L&E visited a fabulous little shop tucked away upstairs at 29 Lonsdale Street in Braddon (opposite Debacle and above Thrifty) - Brindabella Baby, run by Emma Davidson. Everything sold is sweatshop-free and environmentally sustainable.

The range includes Fair Trade certified and Australian Certified Organic products (including chocolate). Fabrics include hemp, silk, merino wool, bamboo, organic cotton and more. I bought the most adorable tiny jumpsuit for my friend's brand new baby Sophie. www.brindabellababy.com.au A Better World For Baby.

looking for the perfect way to escape the chilly Canberra winter for a few hours?

On Sunday, head down to "Wine and Unwind" in the fabulous ballroom of The Brassey of Canberra, Belmore Gardens, Barton.

Treat yourself to complimentary wine and food tasting from a selection of wineries in our local region. Pamper yourself with a massage, manicure and more.
All funds raised go to Karinya House for Mothers & Babies – a local charity supporting pregnant/parenting women and their families in crisis throughout the ACT and surrounding region. And....make sure you buy a fistful of raffle tickets....we hear over half a kilo of some pretty special chocolate has been donated

Wild food in bowral now stocks Lindsay and Edmunds!

After 20 years in the natural food business Highland residents Peter & Deborah Roach recognize that good health is best achieved through a holistic approach incorporating a quality diet, exercise and emotional well-being.

Wild Food does not promote 'quick fix' fads, but a lifetime balance of these things. Peter says, “Excellent health starts with excellent food, so we’ve created a complete organic store bursting with a superb range of fresh, natural foods from gourmet to gluten-free with a genuine ‘feel good’ shopping experience.”

Deb says, “The demand for organics has increased dramatically in recent years as a healthy alternative for expectant mothers, those with ADD/ADHD, allergies, asthma, skin complaints, fatigue & immune problems and then there are those who choose to eat organic because it just tastes so much better.” Certified organic products are grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, growth regulators, antibiotics or genetic engineering.

who are we? well since you asked....

Lindsay & Edmunds was created by principal Peter Edmunds out of his love for the French chocolatier.

"The extensive travelling I have done in France over the last 10 years has reinforced my love of the French way of creating little morsels (petits morceaux) that are to be savoured rather than consumed in large quantities. The French have elevated this to an art form."

Peter has built on his training as a chef and time spent in France to create his range of chocolates, a range he is continually developing and expanding.

We are delighted to assist with special occasions and large events. We also supply selected retailers. Ask us about our beautiful handmade chocolates for weddings, birthdays, dinner parties, conferences...

"At Lindsay & Edmunds our aim is to create a range that is unique, rather than simply reproduce standard chocolate-box offerings. We combine our flair for creative difference with the best quality organic ingredients we can find. The result is très bon!"

As well as being organic our chocolates are gluten free, and we have a dark chocolate range for all those vegans amoung us, no one misses out!
